Details

By retiring at 70 instead of 65, you would receive about 42% more per month for life.

We estimate contributory years (from 18 to retirement age), apply a dropout rate (17%), then compute average monthly pensionable earnings (AMPE) from your average annual earnings and the MPE (maximum pensionable earnings) cap. Pension at 65 = 25% of AMPE (capped). Before 65: reduction of about 0.6% per month; after 65: increase of about 0.7% per month.
